STEP 1.
First you must have virtual server installed on localdrive. Try WAMP server, it is very good solution. WAMP server you can download from www.wampserver.com/en/download.php

After installation start WAMP server.

STEP 2.
Download from joomla.org the latest version on joomla.

STEP 3.
In WAMP www directory create an folder and export downloaded joomla installation. This folder will be root on you localhost Joomla site. For example we will create My Site folder.

STEP 4.
In browser type 127.0.0.1 and in Your Projects click on your folder that you have created in STEP 3.

STEP 5.
Now in next 7 steps you will install Joomla.

1. Choose Languge and click on Next
2. IF Pre-installation Check is OK click on Next
3. License … after reading click on Next
4. Database Configuration
After WAMP installation HostName is set as localhost and default user is root.You can add a new user but for now use this parametars. For root user password is no need. Choose   Database Name and click on Next.

5. FTP Configuration … just click on Next
6. Main Configuration
Now you will need to enter Site name, Admin e-mail and pass, and Click on Install Sampe Data. After that click on Next.
7.  Congratulations! Joomla! is now installed. But before you can log in, you must delete installation folder.

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Components – Polls.

STEP 2.
Click on New button to add new Poll on your site.

STEP 3.
Title field is your Poll question (“Who is your favourite actor?”). Fill the Title field and select Published option Yes.

STEP 4.
In Option panel you have 12 fields to make voteing options. In our example we will use three Options for our Poll:
1) Angelina Jolie
2) Jennifer Aniston
3) Charlize Theron

STEP 5.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Module Manager. Find Poll module useing Filter and click on it.

STEP 6.
In Module Parameters – Poll select Poll you want. Also you can edit other module Details in left panel.

In our example Poll look like this.

Go to default template folder on server or local drive. Default template is template  that is currently being used. In this folder just replace favicon.ico with your icon. If there is no favicon.ico try to paste your icon in this folder and look for small icon in Web Browser. Your icon should be there.

STEP 2.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Install / Unistall

STEP 3.
In the Upload Package File go to Browse and select the language on your computer that you want to install and then click on Upload file & Install. In our example it is Serbian language.

STEP 4.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Language Manager

STEP 5.
Select Language Name and make it Default

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Install / Unistall

STEP 2.
in the Upload Package File , go to Browse and select the component on your computer that you want to install and then click on Upload file & Install. In our example it is Ozio Gallery. Basicly component that you download and prepare for installation have prefix com_ (such as com_oziogallery-1.0.9)

STEP 3.
In Joomla 1.5 admin you will notice installed component and by clicking on it enter of set up panel of component.

Templates

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Install / Unistall

STEP 2.
in the Upload Package File, go to Browse and select the template on your computer that you want to install and then click on Upload file & Install

STEP 3.
In Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Template Manager

STEp 4.
From the list of templates select the template that you have just installed

STEp 5.
Make your template Default

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel, go to Content – Article Manager

STEP 2.
Click on title of article that you want to edit

STEP 3.
In the right panel click on Parameters – Advanced

STEP 4.
Find PDF, Print i E-mail parameters option and set their values to Hide

STEP 5. Save settings

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Site – User Manager

STEP 2.
Click on the name of user that you want to set privilege (in our example it is User with username user1)

STEP 3.
In the Group field select Super Administrator or other privilege

STEP 4.
Save settings

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel, go to Content – Article Manager

STEP 2.
Click on icon New to create your article

STEP 3.
Type and format text for your article

STEP 4.
Enter Title, Alias and Selection for your article

STEP 5.
Set option Published to Yes. If you want to show article on front page set option Front Page to Yes, and choose Category (in our example Uncategorized)

STEP 6.
Save settings

STEP 1.
In the Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Install / Unistall

STEP 2.
In the Upload Package File , go to Browse and select the module on your computer that you want to install and then click on Upload file & Install

Next what is needed to do is to set the parameters and the position of the modules, depending on your needs.

STEP 3.
In Joomla 1.5 admin panel go to Extensions – Module Manager

STEP 4.
Search for module you have installed and click on his name. In our example it is MyModule

STEP 5.
Set the Enabled option to Yes. Choose in the drop-down menu the position that you like to put module such as Position: Left

STEP6.
Save settings
